Telegram
Connect a Telegram bot: retrieve its identity with getMe, set the webhook and its separate secret.
Before you start
- A bot token issued by BotFather.
- A reachable HTTPS webhook URL.
Steps
Enter the token
The identity (name, username) is retrieved with getMe before saving.
Set the webhook
Install the webhook URL; the webhook secret is distinct from the bot token.
Test the signature
Send a message; a wrong signature is rejected, never silently accepted.
Expected result
A Telegram message reaches the agent and the answer comes back in the same chat.
Errors and solutions
getMe fails
The token is invalid or revoked: issue a new one in BotFather.
Webhook not delivered
The URL must be public HTTPS; a private or self-signed endpoint is refused.
Screens
/channels — Telegram: token, identity from getMe, webhook and secret, signature test.Reference of the console screen to capture (redacted) during the browser recipe (XP14). No fabricated image is shown.
Limits and dependencies
Live Telegram exchanges require a test bot; without it this channel is externally blocked, other channels keep working.
